Langtree Royal Bronze (Bilbo) was ‘bred in the purple’ with the looks to match! His sire, dam and full siblings are all very successful performance ponies. He has been owned by the same family for the last 2 and a half years and has been a wonderful pony for his, now, 13 year old rider. He is a much loved member of their family. 

Bilbo has been to pony club, lessons and clinics with his current owner and worked cattle as a young horse as well as was shown in his last home. He has been very successful in all areas and is a fabulous all rounder. 

Bilbo is a true second or third pony for a capable and confident rider - he is willing and responsive, moving off the leg easily. When in work, with a capable rider, Bilbo willingly collects. He isn’t, however, a push button pony and can occasionally fuss with the bit. Bilbo has started lateral work and walk-to-canter and is showing a natural aptitude for these movements. He also loves being ridden bareback and jumping!

While Bilbo is currently worked 1-2 times a week, he loves to be worked more regularly and to compete - something he is very good at! His owners lunge him, prior to the first ride, after a spell as he can be a bit fresh and humpy. After that first lunge, he is 100%!

Bilbo ties up happily and calmly at float, or tie ups, without fuss. He is easy to catch, lead and handle (i.e. for farrier - currently barefoot, picking out feet, grooming, hosing and washing). Bilbo is also easy and calm to clip.
