Introduction:

Adi is an athletic, scopey, forward and super brave pony who knows his job and absolutely loves jumping and dressage. He is highly competitive in both interschool, open and Royal shows - frequently winning trophies, rugs and broad ribbons.

Adi is suitable for a confident and capable child rider through to a teen or adult looking for a highly competitive and fuss free small performance horse.

Conformation:

Adi is a beautifully put together example of his Welsh D ancestry. He is elegant, with a pretty head while having a decent ‘barrel’ and being able to carry a rider of average height. Adi’s current rider is a very tall, 171cm 14 year old, who does not look too tall for him.

Education and experience:

Adi is currently training 120cm and has been competitive from the 1m to 110 showjumping, novice dressage and up to 2* (115cm) combined training. He has been ridden successfully by his current owner for the last three years, since she was 12 years old.

Adi’s main love is clearly showjumping - with an unbelievable leg tuck - he has also proven himself to be a quality CT horse and also evented with a previous owner  to EVA95 level as well as 120cm Showjumping.

Adi is a novice dressage horse with elementary movements established – walk- canter, leg yield, shoulder-in, travers and counter-canter.

Adi is described as being soft and 'light' in the bridle, he easily 'collects’ and is willing and responsive.

Adi is currently in work 3 days a week. He doesn’t need regular riding and is safe after a spell. Adi doesn’t need lunging before riding or any work down at shows.

Adi is not concerned by farm life - tractors, trucks, motorbikes and livestock. He is not worried by dogs or other pets. Adi is used to the nonsense of children around him. Adi has visited the beach and enjoys being ridden bareback, on trails and around the farm.

Handling:

Adi is easy to catch, lead and handle - for farrier, picking out feet, grooming, hosing and washing. He ties up happily and calmly at the float and stables  without fuss or pulling back, even when his companion walks off. Adi is easy and calm to float, truck and clip.

Behaviour:

Adi is 100% safe and vice free. However, he can become tense if the rider is nervous  and he is described as forward and sharp. Adi is safe for novices under instruction but is not a small child’s or beginner’s plodder and won’t be sold as one!

Adi is always 100% safe to handle but  - typically of his breed - Adi can be a little pushy when handling but a reminder to watch his manners, soon has him behaving politely.

Medical:

Adi does not have any medical concerns or issues. He is completely sound with many years of performance career left in him. With a pony constitution, he will most likely be competing for another 10 years at least!

Rider suitability:

Adi is suitable for a capable rider - defined as someone who has been riding / competing regularly for at least five years, has independent hands and balanced position/ seat; can walk, trot and canter on multiple horses both young and educated. Is confident in all situations. Can handle some quirks in horses.

Adi is safe for novices under instruction but will not be sold to a novice or beginner. This is a serious performance horse who loves his job and deserves to continue doing it.

Reason for sale:

Adi is very sadly for sale as his rider is away at boarding school and is playing a completely different sport. His family will miss Adi dearly,  but know that he is wasted sitting in the paddock, waiting for his rider to come home on the holidays.
