Standing at 14.1 hh and born Feb 2013, this Riding Pony Mare is a true eye catcher and pleasure to ride. Affectionately known as Sox, she was born to shine and is the perfect choice for any discerning rider, competitor, or breeder.

Bloodlines: Sox is sired by Ninfield Minks Supreme (IMP) and out of Mirinda Height of Fashion (KRO) from the highly regarded Mirinda Stud. She is currently registered with EA, SHC, and Riding Pony, and is eligible for ANSA & Part Welsh.

Education, riding and experience: Sox is currently competing Prelim/Novice with good scores. She is well campaigned as an open show galloway, loves a jump and has been around sheep, cattle and machinery on our working farm.

Despite limited campaigning due to no fault of her own, she has always come home with broad ribbons and qualified for royals easily.

She has competed over the last few years at various Agricultural and SHC shows across Vic and NSW.

Since the start of 2024 Sox has been in full work and stabled at New England Girls School (NEGS) with a young teen to continue her riding, whilst looking for that perfect hack to come along. All handling, stabling, prep, work and shows with Sox has been done with the one student during her time there. They have had great success in and out of the competition arena together over the last few months.

With her best years still ahead of her, Sox is destined for greatness at interschools, in the show ring, pony dressage arena, combined training, pony club or even as a valuable addition to the broodmare paddock.

Flat work/ dressage: Sox requires a kind rider with soft hands and a balance consistent contact. She is fabulous on the flat, responsive, willing and well educated.

Jumping: Sox has jumped up to 90cm and is both careful and brave to show jump.

Experiences or other skills: Sox has been managed and ridden full time by a novice teen rider, being stabled at NEGS Equestrian Centre. She is used to ag shows, fire works, busy stables and farm life - trucks, tractors and livestock.

General demeanor under saddle: Sox is well behaved but not completely unflappable. She can be a little horse shy if in a big busy warm up of 10 plus horses but is fine in group lessons and standard environments.

Current workload/ fitness: Sox is currently in light work and competing.

Handling: Sox requires minimal maintenance and boasts a lovely temperament, making her a joy to travel with. She always eats and drinks when away and isn't matey with others.

Sox is generally very straight forward to catch, handle, wash, float, groom, saddle and for the farrier. She is twitched to clip and she does need her tail bag removed before her rug.

Behaviour: Reliable and trustworthy, no vices.

Feeding and management: No special feeding requirements.

Medical: No medical issues.

Rider Suitability: Would suit intermediate riders from early teens, she needs a rider with independent hands -an understanding on contact and give - and a good seat.

Reason for sale: Sox was purchased by her owner to compete at high levels and at the moment with a small family and business, this isn't able to happen. Her owner doesn’t want to see her sitting in a paddock as she is too good a mare.

Sox is currently in full show condition. All of her fitted and custom show gear, work gear, saddle and rugs are available for an additional price if required.
