Introduction: Chiquitin

Chiquitin is presented in conjunction with Jane Naughton from Spanish Horses, an international broker with experience exporting horses to Australia.

Chiquitin presents an opportunity for an astute buyer, to purchase a very well educated young dressage warmblood with an exceptional temperament, at a very reasonable price due to location.

Bloodlines

Chiquitin is by Ampere, his dam line St Morris Junior. Both bloodlines are known for their exceptional gaits, work ethic and honest, sensible temperaments.

Conformation

Chiquitin is a handsome gelding who presents as a wonderful ‘dressage type’. He has a well formed neck, correctly shoulders, well formed withers and strong legs.

Education, riding and experience:

Chiquitin is a very well educated young horse. He is schooling 4th level - the equivalent of Australian ‘Medium’ level - with piaffe in hand. Chiquitin is ready to start changes in series.

To ride, Chiquitin is willing and responsive, forward and sharp. He is soft and 'light' in the bridle and willingly 'collects' in a simple snaffle. Chiquitin has a wonderful nature and willingness to work.

Chiquitin has been to multiple different places for lessons and is being prepared for his first competition. He is at a very busy yard, with multiple horses and lots of vehicles, people and horses coming and going. We firmly believe that Chiquitin will handle competition life without any issues.

Handling

Chiquitin is generally unflappable and calm. He is well mannered to catch, lead and handle - pleasant for the farrier, to load and travel, to groom and wash. Chiquitin hasn’t been clipped.

Medical and behaviour

Chiquitn has a nice character, is generally well behaved and willing to work. No horse ‘never spooks’ - especially a young horse - but he is not a horse that spooks at everything.

Six month old X-rays are available. Chiquitin is piro free suitable for export. He is up to date with vaccinations, dental and shoeing.

Rider Suitability

Chiquitin would suit an Intermediate Rider. An intermediate rider is defined as someone who has been riding / competing regularly for at least three years, has independent hands and balanced position/ seat; can walk, trot and canter on their own horse. Rider is confident if the horse is reasonably well behaved. Prefers a schoolmaster type without any major quirks.

Chiquitin would also be suitable for a professional or amateur rider wanting to bring him on for advanced level competition. Given his size and temperament, he would also suit a capable junior rider to train under supervision.
