Introduction: Val is the ultimate schoolmaster performance horse. He is a thoroughbred through and through - willing, athletic, trainable and intelligent. Val has competed to 3* eventing level. He has many years left to share with a new rider and is being offered as the ultimate confidence booster for someone wanting to compete EVA65-80.
Education, skills and experience: Pandarra is a ‘ribbon machine’ winning or placing wherever he goes. He has competed up to National level with success.
Val has been there, done that and won the rug. He has oodles of experience eventing, combined training, showjumping and dressage up to Medium level. Val does need to be ridden correctly to work in a collected frame.
Val’s current owner has competed him at EVA95 level, however he needs to step down to 65-80cm He is point and shoot, tolerant, kind and honest.
General demeanor under saddle: Val is willing and responsive under saddle. He has a snaffle mouth but can get a little heavy at times. The rider simply needs to half halt and Val will lighten in the contact.
Val is balanced, reliable and fun to ride. He is tolerant and respectful. Val can be ridden and competed anywhere without issues. He is used to agricultural shows, busy environments and is unphased by farm life, trucks, tractors and fireworks. Val is super safe to ride out, down roads and across open paddocks - a fabulous trail riding horse. He is ridden bareback, with others, on his own and has been mustering.
Current workload/ fitness: Val is currently in work and competing.
Handling: Val is safe and easy to handle in all ways - to catch, shoe, wash, saddle and load, travel and unload in an angle load float.
Behaviour: Val is affectionate and is an absolute pleasure to have around. He does not have any quirks or vices under saddle. Val does not need to be ridden regularly and is safe after a spell.
Feeding and management: Val lives in a grassy paddock. He is supplemented with hard feed and hay. Val’s behaviour is not affected by feed.
Medical history: Val does not have any medical issues other than changes on xrays that are a result or age and experience. He is on pentosan.
Rider Suitability: Val is suitable for any rider - beginner to advanced - everyone would enjoy him and learn something from him. Val is a gorgeous, stress free mount for lower level competitions, pony club or ARC. He will give his next rider many years of love and enjoyment.
Reason for sale: Valis very reluctantly for sale because he was bought as a 1/2* horse and it was not disclosed that he is no longer capable of competing to that level.
Val’s owner says: We are absolutely devastated to put Val on the market but we know he had a huge amount to offer another rider and would be wasted being retired with us.
