Introduction: Sergeant is a fabulous thoroughbred all rounder. He is an experienced hand at jumping, eventing and pony club. Sergeant really has ‘been there and done that’ with his current and previous junior riders.

Education, skills and experience: With his current owner Sergeant has done pony club, including camps; inter school competitions; C grade jumping; low level dressage; D grade eventing; trail riding; and has been ridden bareback. With his previous owner he competed to 1m showjumping.

General demeanor under saddle: When in work, Sergeant is willing and quiet under saddle. He has a soft, snaffle mouth. Sergeant responds well to the aides. He can be described as a ‘reliable and fun pony clubber’.

Current workload/ fitness: Sergeant is currently in light work.

Handling: Sergeant is easy to catch and work. He is safe and easy to handle - to  trim and shoe - wash, saddle, clip and load/ travel/ unload.

Behaviour: Sergeant is a kind and affectionate boy. He thrives in a one to one partnership with the rider and will do anything for ‘his’ person. Sergeant enjoys people and is an absolute pleasure to have around. He can be paddocked or stabled. Sergeant is not worried by fireworks, busy roads, farm life -  tractors, trucks, motorbikes, livestock or dogs. He does not kick, buck or bite.

Sergeant is generally very quiet and relaxed, especially with a balanced and relaxed rider. However, like most horses, if he is overfed and under-worked - when showjumping with a nervous rider - he could be tense, looky and may have one pigroot. In saying this, even when overfed and under-worked, his rider and her parents consider him to be safe at all times.

Feeding and management: Sergeant is low maintenance and simply lives on grass. Like all horses, he does benefit from hoof and joint supplement when in work.

Medical history: Sergeant does not have any medical issues that affect rideability or performance. He has always been well looked after and has not had a hard life. He has been in light work due to his rider doing her HSC in 2024, so has many, many years left to enjoy with his next rider.

Rider Suitability: Sergeant would not suit beginners, nervous or unbalanced riders. Sergeant would be relaxed and suitable for a balanced and confident teen or adult rider who is looking for a fun, all-rounder type.

Reason for sale: Sergeant is very reluctantly for sale because his owner is going to university.
