Introduction: Alabaster Coast (Noodles) is an experienced all-rounder who has competed in eventing, dressage, hacking, and showjumping up to 1.10m. He has been a reliable and safe schoolmaster for his last two junior riders, including his current 15 year old owner, who has been riding him for the last two years. Noodles is ideal for a rider seeking a no-fuss, kind horse for a variety of disciplines.

Bloodlines: Noodles is by Dream Ballard out of Delta Blues. Dream Ballard is the sire of several successful thoroughbred show jumpers including ‘All about Ryhming’ (aka Maverick 3MC): ridden by Katelyn Staples and ‘Lots of Dreams’ ridden by Kayla Mcewen.

Education, skills and experience:  Noodles is a brave, willing and reliable horse. Early in his career, he was a very successful show horse on the western Agricultural show run. On the flat, he is well educated and collects willingly when ridden correctly. He is a pleasure to ride - he doesn’t rush and he isn’t lazy.

When eventing and showjumping, Noodles always aims to please and is tolerant of a ‘miss’ and a rider who lacks the perfect eye for a distance. In two years of ownership, Noodles has never refused a jump and rarely touches a rail. He is ridden in a kimblewick and is soft and responsive in this bit.

Noodles was recently ridden by a member of the PHS team who said - ‘I warmed Noodles up for five minutes and then he worked really nice and round. He was super easy to jump! If you grab him in the mouth, he might toss his head once, but if you stay soft, he doesn’t. I rode him in a sweet iron snaffle and a kimblewick and he was lovely and relaxed in the kimblewick. I really enjoyed riding him!’

General demeanor under saddle: Noodles does not have any vices or quirks. He is brave, does not spook and is not worried by farm life, trucks, tractors, mowers, cattle and dogs. Noodles cares far more about eating than fireworks - please see video!

Current workload/ fitness: Noodles is ridden 2-3 times a week and is currently competing.

Handling and general behaviour: Noodles is easy to catch, saddle, groom, wash, travel (load, float, unload), shoe, and handle for dental care. Noodles is a fuss free bloke who takes everything in his stride.

Feeding and management: Noodles can be kept in a herd situation or with other horses over the fence. He is currently fed cool pellets, chaff and hay - only because there is very little grass in his paddock. He is not on any supplements.

Medical history: Noodles was a complete failure as a racehorse and didn’t make it past the barrier trial! However, this means that he didn’t sustain any wear and tear while racing or develop any racehorse habits. Noodles may present as a little ‘thick in the wind’ but it does not affect his performance and he is sound and healthy.

Rider Suitability: Noodles has a heart of gold and will continue to thrive with someone who is a confident and balanced novice to intermediate rider and appreciates his brave nature and versatility.

Reason for sale:  Noodles is very sadly for sale because his rider is transitioning into campdrafting and predominantly riding stock horses.
