Introduction: Vakarra Champagne/ Rayne is an absolute delight to ride, handle and compete! Rayne was bred and produced to 120 level by Kirsty Ansell at Vakarra Park family before sold to Maleah Lang-McMahon. Rayne was then purchased for her owner when she was just 14 years old and had only been riding for six months! She has excelled and progressed beautifully in the role of ‘juniors’ schoolmaster with her last two junior riders.
With her owner moving onto Mini-Prix level and producing young horses, Rayne is extremely sadly for sale. This presents a wonderful opportunity for another young rider to learn from and succeed with such a wonderful mare.
Bloodlines: Rayne was undoubtedly bred in the purple being sired by Charlemagne Ego Z - the sire of PHS’s own Junior/ Young rider schoolmaster, Embrook Stables Charlie!
The pedigree of Charlemagne Ego Z is outstanding, he is by Calvaro (Caletto I / Capital) who competed at the Sydney Olympics with John Whitaker and the Rome WEG with Jos Lansink. With Whitaker, he won two of the biggest Grand Prix in the world - Hickstead and Aachen! Charlemagne’s dam Capri Ego Z (exp) is by Calvin Z (Caletto II / Roman ) a full brother in blood to the jumping progenitor Cantus.
Charlemagne shows and passes on his outstanding rideability, great technique with amazing scope over World Cup tracks. Charlemagne offspring have been chosen by some of Australia’s leading riders and breeders.
Conformation: Rayne is a wonderful example of the modern performance horse - compact, athletic and refined. Her paces display elasticity, power and activity.
Education, riding and experience: Rayne is well established on the flat and would be competent to compete at novice level dressage. She has automatic flying changes and established leg yields. This makes her rideable, adjustable and competitive on course.
Rayne is currently in work, competing and winning at 120 to 135 level. She is honest, trustworthy, brave and is very careful around the course. The fact that Rayne has competed to this level with two junior riders, is the best possible reference to her rideability and adaptability!
Rayne is a true ‘junior’s schoolmaster’ - tolerant of rider mistakes, loves her ‘people’ and always aims to please. She is always 100% safe, doesn’t worry about farm life, big shows, fireworks or busy roads.
Handling: Rayne is patient and well mannered on the ground to rug, wash, shoe etc. She is great for the farrier and to clip. Rayne is very easy to load, travel and unload - in either a float or truck. She loves cuddles and affection.
Behaviour: Rayne has traveled all over the country. She is happy in big city and Royal Show environments. She travels well - loads and unloads without fuss and eats and drinks well when away from home.
Rayne is sensible and reliable and to ride and handle. She does not have any vices under-saddle or on the ground. Rayne can, at times, be somewhat horse shy but has handled three years in the tricky warmup at Sydney Royal - without any issues!
Feeding and management: Rayne is fed a simple diet of chaff, Munga and hay. She is given Hoof Gold and 4Cyte as preventatives. Rayne is happy to be stabled and loves her paddock. She is very easy to manage.
Medical history: Rayne does not have any issues that affect her performance.
Rider Suitability: Rayne would suit a competitive child, junior or adult rider who is looking for a straightforward and competitive horse to move up the show jumping levels.
Reason for sale: Rayne is very sadly for sale due to her owner moving onto Mini-Prix level with other horses.
