Introduction: Watermark/ Raiden is an absolute delight to ride, handle and compete. He was started and has been owned by an amateur rider his whole life. He has excelled and progressed beautifully - competing successfully to 135 level with his owner - and 150 plus with a professional rider. He presents a wonderful opportunity for a buyer to purchase a sound, sane and rideable horse which is succeeding at the top levels of the sport.
Conformation: Raiden is a wonderful example of the modern performance horse - compact, athletic and refined. His paces display elasticity, power and activity suitable to progress up the levels.
Education, riding and experience: Raiden is exceptionally well educated on the flat. He has automatic flying changes and laterals, making his rideable, adjustable and competitive on course. Plenty of dressage lessons with a Grand Prix dressage rider throughout his career. He has established tempi changes, canter pirouettes and laterals.
Raiden is currently competing 150 plus with a professional rider. He is willing and responsive as well as very competitive against the clock. Raiden is exceedingly brave, honest and careful around the course and totally trustworthy too.
Raiden is an absolute stable favourite and is loved by everyone he meets. Being a family/ amateur horse who is also ridden by a professional, has made him tolerant of rider mistakes, well educated and always aiming to please. Raiden is the type of horse you ‘can put your grandma on for a trail ride!’ He is an all round lovely horse with an outstanding temperament.
Raiden is currently in work and competing.
Handling: Raiden is patient and well mannered on the ground to rug, wash, shoe etc.He is very easy to travel in float or truck. Raiden can be caught and handled by kids. He stands quietly for the farrier and vet or to be clipped.
Behaviour: Raiden has traveled all over QLD and NSW. He is happy in big city show environments as well as being stabled in basic ag show situations with fireworks every night. He travels well - loads and unloads without fuss and eats and drinks well when away from home.
Raiden does not have any vices and is not at all ‘matey’. Raiden enjoys socialising with people and other horses and is fun to have around!
Feeding and management: Raiden does not have any special feeding or management requirements. Raiden is happy to be stabled, yarded or paddocked on his own or in a herd situation. He is easy care and zero fuss!
Medical history: Raiden does not have any medical issues. he is injury free and issue free. He has had locking stifle since he was 12 months old but it has never affected his performance. Raiden was pre-sale vet checked - including flexions and xrays - and no issues were found.
Rider Suitability: Raiden would suit a competitive junior or adult rider who is looking for a straightforward and competitive horse to teach them as they go up the show jumping levels. he would also suit a professional to compete in World Cup qualifiers and Grand Prix classes.
Reason for sale: Raiden is for sale due to his owner’s health and the fact that Riaden is such an incredibly talented and rideable horse, that is succeeding at the very top level of the sport. His owners know that he has an incredible amount to offer his next rider.
