Introduction: Nikita MVNZ (Nik) is an absolute delight to ride, handle and compete. Nik was bred and started by Mount View Sport Horses in New Zealand before being imported. She has excelled and progressed beautifully and, due to work commitments, presents a wonderful opportunity for an astute buyer to purchase a sound, sane, rideable and competitive horse for a Young Rider (18 yo plus) or Amateur.
Bloodlines: Nik was undoubtedly bred in the purple - sired by Larimar, out of Sunday VDL. At the Neumünster stallion grading, Larimar by Lavall II drew attention to himself for his correct conformation and his gaits as well his scope and judgement over the fences. His free-jumping was graded 10.0 by the judges and his stadium jumping 9.5 by the test riders. Larimar’s quality as a sire is without doubt, producing highly successful sport horse offspring, as well as five stallion-graded sons and 16 state premium mares.
Nik’s dam, Sunday VDL (MVNZ) descends from one of the finest lines in Holstein – Stamm 18b1 out of the famous Dorette line.
Sunday’s sire was Quinar, by Quidam De Revel who passed away in early 2014, he will be remembered not only as a world class Nations Cup and Olympic jumper, but as a prolific elite sire as well. Sunday’s dam was Farina VI by Cor De Le Bryere. Cor de la Bryère is the stallion that revolutionised jumping horse breeding. His name is the one astute breeders like to see, especially on the mare line, for ‘Corde’ tends to give great form over a jump.
Conformation: Nik is a wonderful example of the modern performance horse - compact and athletic. Her paces display elasticity, power and activity.
Education, riding and experience: Nik is well established on the flat. She has automatic flying changes and laterals, making her rideable, adjustable and competitive on course. Nik would do a very handy dressage test, although this isn’t her rider’s ‘thing’.
Nik has competed up to 125 jump offs and she is most comfortable and competitive around the 115 tracks. She is willing and responsive as well as competitive against the clock. Nik is honest, trustworthy, brave and careful around the course and doesn’t stop.
Nik is an absolute family favourite and is ridden by everyone from older teens to adults. This variety of riders, as well as her naturally kind temperament, has made her tolerant of rider mistakes and she always aims to please.
Trucks are constantly going past her paddock and Nik is completely unphased by them. She is a naturally brave horse, who is happy being ridden on trails and out in the paddock through sheep and over natural obstacles. For this reason, we believe she would be quite a capable eventer.
Nik is not currently in work due to her rider’s other commitments, and asking price reflects this, but is no trouble to bring back in.
Handling: Nik is patient and well mannered on the ground to rug, wash, shoe etc. She is very easy to travel in either a float or truck and self loads.
Behaviour: Nik has traveled all over Victoria and into SA. She is happy in big city environments as well as being stabled in basic ag show situations with fireworks every night. She travels well - loads and unloads without fuss and eats and drinks well when away from home.
Nik is sensible and reliable to ride and handle. She does not have any vices and is not at all ‘marey’. Nik enjoys socialising with people and is fun to have around.
Feeding and management: Nik does not have any special feeding or management requirements. She is currently fed hay and, when in work, is fed hard feed. Nik is happy to be stabled, yarded or paddocked. She prefers to be paddocked on her own with horses in sight.
Medical history: Nik does not have any medical issues. She is injury free and issue free. Nik successfully had a foal and returned to work before being imported to Australia as a 6 year old.
Rider Suitability: Nik would suit a competitive 18 yo plus rider who is looking for a straightforward and competitive horse to compete 115-120, perhaps to event or do HRCAV. She likes a kind rider who will ‘ask’ Nik nicely - using soft hands and aides.
Reason for sale: Nik is very sadly for sale due to work commitments. We are looking for a n exceptional home, with an18 yo plus rider, to really love her and enjoy her.
The owners have deliberated over selling her for the last two years because she is so special. They have now accepted that they are not doing her justice by keeping her but she will only be sold to the perfect home.
