Introduction: Vivi is a beautiful young horse. With one white sock, a very pretty face and an elegant body - she suited to showing as well as dressage. Vivi is bred to excel in dressage or showing with the bloodlines, conformation and talent to make it at the top level.
Vivi presents an amazing opportunity to take on such a beautiful straight forward youngster, who will have enough talent for a professional rider but the temperament to excel with a capable junior or amateur rider.
Bloodlines: Vivi is by Versace, who breeds very pretty foals, which Vivi definitely is! Versace is a modern, elegant stallion with super conformation. He is very uphill, with a great shoulder and shape to the neck. He has 3 outstanding gaits; a graceful, lengthy walk, expressive trot with excellent mechanics, and an uphill, active canter which is very balanced. He displays this super movement both at liberty and under saddle. Versace has an exceptional character, with a very willing and happy attitude towards work. He gives a very good feeling to his rider. Versace offers Australian breeders and riders an exceptional package; most importantly, temperament, along with the modern type, good looks and super movement, and genetics.
Vivi is out of AATC Gem - bred by Anna Fullarton - who is by Wolkenstein II (Weltmeyer), out of a Letdown (TB) mare (Lunchtime - an enduringly popular TB line for showing.
Wolkenstein II is one of the best sons of Weltmeyer. His famous sire, in combination with a prepotent dam line, has produced a stallion whose own performance record speaks for itself. Faultless character, extraordinary willingness to perform, tremendous presence and outstanding dressage and jumping ability are abundant. The young Wolkenstein II is not only a great performer, he also passes on his outstanding talent for dressage and his tremendous presence to his offspring.
Weltmeyer: The legend. As the AHS put it, "Weltmeyer continues to almost single-handedly reshape the Hanoverian breed." When it comes to capacity for dressage and the temperament necessary for a top competitor, this stallion simply cannot be beaten. In 2005, Weltmeyer received a Breeding Value Index of 152 points, with an assurance of 99% heritability, from the German Equestrian Federation.
Conformation: Vivi is a modern, compact and athletic warmblood, just like her parents. Vivi’s conformation will enable her to take to ‘life under saddle’ with willingness and acceptance.
Movement and temperament: In the article ‘Foal to FEI’ Maryanna Haymon, who has been breeding warmbloods for 27 years, says that dressage standouts can be spotted at the foal stage. She says that foals with an aptitude for dressage will perform such movements as piaffe half-steps, passage, flying changes, and canter pirouettes as they frolic in the field: “These things are natural to top-level horses when they are babies.”
Haymon also looks for evidence of innate bravery, curiosity, and a desire to interact with humans, all of which, she believes, stoke the work ethic needed for high-level dressage achievement. She likes to see a foal that’s willing to leave its dam’s side to come over, sniff and greet people.
Vivi encompasses these future FEI attributes. She has lovely floating movement and her frolicking shows glimpses of those FEI movements. Vivi’s personality is friendly and curious but the least ‘in your face’ of the three foals. She is confident but reserved.
Vivi is the youngest of the three foals but has stood her ground right from the beginning. She lost her mother straight after birth and was fed by Jack’s mum - for that first half a day - until the surrogate mare arrived. Jack, who was one month old at the time, went from seeing her as an interesting toy to a bit of a threat but Vivi stood her ground even as a newly born foal. Jack backed down which was quite interesting to see!
Behaviour and handling: Vivi is very easy to catch and has had basic handling and halter training. She has had her feet trimmed by the farrier and been floated with her mother.
Feeding and management: Vivi does not require any specific feeding or management. She has not been weaned and lives off grass but eats mum’s hay and hard feed - Prydes Bio Mare, chaff, boiled barley.
Medical history: Vivi does not have any medical issues.
Rider Suitability: Vivi requires a competent and capable rider due to her age and potential
Reason for sale: Vivi is for sale as part of her owner’s breeding program.
With Vivi’s intelligence, talent, and willingness to please, she is perfect for someone looking to bring on a lovely, uncomplicated young horse for the future.
