Tapu Genie

Introduction: Tapu Genie/ Gigi is a fabulous pony all-rounder. She is smart on her feet, willing to work, alert, and intelligent. Gigi has ‘been there and done that’ with her past and current owners.

Education, skills, and experience: Gigi has done pony club, including camps;  gymkhanas; D grade show jumping;  dressage; low-level eventing; trail riding and rides through town; been ridden bareback in a halter; and swam in dams.

Gigi was previously advertised as ‘schooling all novice work with an FEI rider’ and as a ‘royal quality show pony’. She works softly in a collected frame when asked correctly and could excel in pony dressage.  

Gigi has competed up to 90cm showjumping and now competes 45cm with her current rider. She is competing novice dressage and has numerous dressage and showing wins to her credit. 

General demeanor under saddle: Gigi is willing and responsive under saddle. She has a soft, snaffle mouth. She can be described as a ‘reliable and fun pony clubber, allrounder’. 

Gigi can be left in the paddock for a month and safely hopped on as if she hadn’t had a day off. 

Current workload/ fitness: Gigi is in light work as her rider has moved onto a bigger horse. 

Handling: Gigi is easy to catch in a very large paddock and is always ready to get to work. She is safe and easy to handle - to trim and shoe - wash, saddle, clip, and load/ travel/ unload.

Behavior: Gigi thrives in a one-to-one partnership with the rider and will do anything for ‘her’ person. She enjoys people and is an absolute pleasure to have around. 

Gigi is not worried by busy roads, farm life -  tractors, trucks, motorbikes, livestock, or dogs. She is unflappable, brave, happy to lead the way or follow and is super cute!

Gigi can put her ears back if you are rough and quick to do up the girth but she is all bluff. 

Feeding and management: Gigi is very low maintenance and simply lives on grass. She can be paddocked or stabled, alone or with company. 

Medical history: Gigi does have arthritis in her hocks, hence price. She is on previcox which will no longer be needed once the joints fuse. She is up to date with vaccinations, dental and farrier.

Rider Suitability: Gigi would be suitable for a beginner on or off the lead, through to a confident and balanced rider for competitions.

Reason for sale: Gigi is very reluctantly for sale because her owner has moved on to a bigger horse. Gigi is just too good and has too many years left to teach another rider, to be left in the paddock.
